Grateful Headz first began in Poplar Bluff, MO under the leadership of founder Cody Harris, who worked tirelessly to build the foundation of what has grown into a small but flourishing network of stores across Southeast and Southwest Missouri. In July 2021, Sean and Jamie Turner opened Grateful Headz Dexter as the very first franchise location. Since then, the brand has expanded to 15 locations, with plans to continue growing, and we are proud to have played a hands-on role in helping shape the standards and reputation behind the name.
Our journey into cannabis was never just about opening a store. It was deeply personal to us. Before stepping into this industry, Sean spent years working as a river deck hand mate, leading crews and building a strong work ethic rooted in discipline and responsibility. Jamie owned and operated a successful graphic design business for more than a decade. We came from different professional backgrounds, but everything shifted when Jamie faced chronic health challenges and began researching natural wellness options. What started as personal education turned into passion, and that passion eventually became purpose.
That purpose still guides everything we do today. We proudly operate as a Legal Hemp Dispensary, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our THCa flower is carefully sourced from select hemp farms in Northern California, where cultivation standards are among the highest in the country. Every batch is 3rd party lab tested through ISO accredited and DEA registered labs to ensure compliance, purity and transparency. We don’t chase shortcuts or trends. If a product does not meet our standards, it doesn’t make it onto our shelves.
Our curated bud bar reflects the time and intention we put into sourcing. We spend countless hours reviewing lab reports, communicating directly with growers, and personally evaluating quality. We believe premium cannabis should look exceptional, smell remarkable and reflect the care that went into growing it. When customers shop with us, they can feel confident that what they are purchasing has been thoughtfully selected and thoroughly vetted.

Today, Sean and Jamie proudly own and operate three retail locations: Grateful Headz in Dexter and Chaffee, and Grateful Cloudz in Dexter. We remain hands-on owners who care deeply about our products, our team and the community we serve. Grateful Headz Dexter is more than a storefront. It is a reflection of hard work, personal conviction and a belief that cannabis can be offered in a way that is responsible, elevated and rooted in heart.
